Additional Property Attributes

The property is a general aviation airport and hosts Great Basin Soarings, a small office building, and a private aircraft hangar. The County is exploring opportunities to expand aviation and associated commercial services at the airport. In 2012, Nye County Public Works removed the identified underground storage tanks and tested the soil for possible contamination. The results of the testing revealed no contamination from the tanks. Pesticides utilized for rodent control are stored in 2 gallon jugs on the property and a backup generator utilizing a diesel fuel tank with 100 gallons or less of fuel are located on the property.

Former Use: Two parcels make up the Beatty municipal airport site. The property was developed as an airport prior to 1949, with a portion of the site developed as a mining camp prior to 1954. The mining camp was subsequently abandoned.
