Former Use: Property Description/ History/ Past Ownership: The property was formerly owned by Heather Apartments Limited Partnership and was a 436 unit apartment complex covering 27 acres. Units containing asbestos were located on approximately 17 acres of land and affected 114 apartment units. The City of The Village previously owned the apartment complex. The Village used $254,000 from the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality's (DEQ's) Brownfields Cleanup Revolving Loan Fund (BCRLF), a $200,000 ARRA grant from EPA Brownfields, and $315,321 in local funding from the Village Public Works Authority to abate asbestos in the 114 apartment units. Following cleanup, The Village sold a portion of the property to Crossings Community Center LLC to build the Crossings Community Center, and to Hawthorn Village LLC. Hawthorne Village LLC built 122 townhouses and residences on the former apartment complex property. The market value of the Hawthorne Village housing and Crossings Community Center is $33,895,545 as of 2022. Redevelopment has been spurring on adjacent properties including a gated community and nursing home. The market value of adjacent properties is $31,687,657 as of 2022.

According to 2025 Google Earth Imagery History, the site was fully redeveloped in the year 2017.
