Additional Property Attributes

Mr. William & Jackie Morrison intend to redevelop the currently vacant property with a two story building. The first floor of the building would be utilized for commercial operations and the second floor of the building would be utilized for residential apartments.

Former Use: Historically, the subject property had been a traditional blacksmithing operation. A 1929 Sanborn Fire Insurance map depicts the subject property as a livery stable on the southern lot, a blacksmith shop in the central lot and small shed in the northern lot.According to available information the blacksmith operation was conducted on site from at least the 1880s until the 1950s.The 1938 and 1954 aerial photographs depict a building in the central portion of the subject property in a similar configuration as the 1929 Sanborn map. It appears that the subject building is a combination of both the former blacksmith and livery stable building. According to available information, the former subject building burned down in 1999. Current assessor information indicates that the subject property is owned by Jackie Morrison. Jackie Morrison bought the subject property under land contract from the Chervenka, Mildred and Earl Trust in 1999.According to available information it appears that Mildred and Earl Chervenka have owned the subject property since the 1950s. Mr. Chervenka used the property primarily for wood fabricating and tool and die purposes. Mr. Morrison indicated that Mr. Chervenka manufactured thousands of wooden furniture parts for downtown furniture companies. The second story of the building was used by Native Americans in the community to dry their gill nets.
