Additional Property Attributes

The subject property consists of one parcel of land occupying approximately 0.20 acres. The property is currently developed with one building that was reportedly initially developed as a meat market in the late 1800s or early 1900s. Multiple expansions to the building have been completed over the years in support of use of the site as a hotel and restaurant. The subject building has reportedly been vacant since 2004.The Leelanau County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority is interested in assisting the Northport Area Heritage Association (NAHA) with redevelopment of the site. Proposed redevelopment plans for the NAHA include razing the existing building and constructing a museum. Mr. Al Noftz of the NAHA reports that heating oil was historically utilized to heat the building.
