Additional Property Attributes

The site consists of an approximate 7.1-acre irregular-shaped lot, located in Clarksburg Massachusetts on the east side of River Road. An 864 square-foot single-story ranch- house built in approximately 1876 and a single-car detached garage are located on the site. The balance of the site is comprised of grassy fields, with vegetation bordering the northern side of the property, and the North Branch of the Hoosic River bordering the eastern side of the site. A vegetated strip also runs through the eastern portion of the site. Prior to 1950, the site was occupied by an automobile service garage, and also served as a school house and storage for the Town fire truck for a period of time. The site was used as a dairy bar from approximately 1950 to the mid 1960s, and although currently vacant, has been used for residential purposes since that time.

Former Use: The property was used as a gas and service station from approximately 1922 to approximately 1965. Since that time, the property has been used as a residence, although it is currently abandoned due to a failed well.
