Additional Property Attributes

The City of Waterloo acquired the property as part of a Development Agreement with the Cedar Valley Food Bank. This deal allowed the Food Bank to relocate within the community's new Human Service Campus. Following acquisition the City plans to redevelop the property as green space along the Cedar River parkway with optional commercial development on street side of the property.

Former Use: A review of historical sources indicates the property contained commercial development from 1914 until the present. Past commercial uses include a granite company and auto-wrecking business in 1914, a warehouse from 1978-1983 and a food bank from 1988 to the present. The property currently contains three structures including the following: One story, 10,000 square feet l warehouse with a steel built in 1970. One story, 7,000 square feet warehouse addition built in 1973. Two Story, 7,421 square feet warehouse built in 1920. The is tile-. The buildings are connected with a passageway.
