Site used for a building which housed the control room for manufactured gas plant.Area has history of heavy contamination. Although extensive clean-up has been done on adjacent site in past years, general public and elected officials harbor belief that site is too contaminated for public entity to acquire. The property was cleaned up by the former owner & The City of Asheville has acquired the property.

PSNC cleaned up the property under NC stet BF regulations & the City has acquired it for public use.
