Additional Property Attributes

The Property was formerly operated as the Former Doehler Jarvis metal die casting facility. It is known that portions of the Property still contain chemicals of concern (COCs) above VAP criteria, and the Property includes several former building slabs and foundation walls and a significant change in topography due to the presence of former basements not completely demolished.

Based upon the findings of previous investigation activities, the lapse in time since prior investigations, and the multiple revisions to the Ohio VAP Rules, it is prudent to further evaluate the presence and/or extent of COCs in areas with limited existing soil data, to evaluate current groundwater conditions, and to further assess the potential vapor intrusion exposure pathway for both on-Property Commercial/Industrial Receptors and off-Property Residential Receptors.

It is critical to understand current groundwater and off-Property soil vapor conditions in an effort to appropriately determine the best remedial approach at the Property and to characterize potential off-Property exposures to determine whether those exposure pathways are in compliance so that, in the future, a VAP NFA Letter can be prepared to request a Covenant Not to Sue (CNS) from Ohio EPA, which will be required in coordination with a future Brownfield Remediation grant.
