Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The site, 1.2 acres in size, is used as a city-owned parking lot with metered and permit parking. The site was developed since approximately 1886 as mixed use commercial and residential. Prior use included residential dwellings, stables, sheds, saloons, restaurants, a bowling alley, a dance hall, a firehouse, a Salvation Army hall, stores, and a parking lot. As of the 1950s no structures were present on the subject property and the site was identified as a municipal parking lot owned by the City of Plainfield. The city, or the citys Parking Authority, has owned the site since 1959. Prior to that, the site was owned by a series of private entities.
