Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The site is owned by the city and consists of Tax Block 112, Lot 8, measuring 0.16 acres in size. At the time of the initial site assessment activities on October 27, 2009, the Site contained a dilapidated, one-story former auto repair garage. The structure was later demolished during the week of December 14, 2009. The site was first developed some time prior to 1892. The former structure at the Site most recently operated as an auto repair garage was identified at the site as early as 1904. The former facility and Site have been used for commercial use, specifically auto repair activities since at least 1971. The city owned the site prior to 1945, and sold the site to a private owner in that year. The Somerset Trust Company acquired ownership of the property on September 2, 1981, and sold the site to the West End Body Shop on August 22, 1984. The City of Plainfield re-acquired ownership of the site from West End Body Shop on April 4, 2006 following foreclosure activities.
