Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: This parcel is located west of Lot 5 located on the northern side of Route 9A in Spofford Village, Chesterfield, NH. The first building documented on the parcel was a wood-d mill building constructed in circa 1810, with several subsequent additions. Use of the mill building included textile manufacturing, various wood working manufacturing, bit manufacturing, storage and warehousing, circuit board manufacturing copper electroplating and assembly of printed circuit boards, upholstery, and as office space. Durring the ownership and occupancy of the mill building by the circuit board manufacturer, Electro-Sonics, this lot was further improved in the early 1980s with a waste water treatement building that housed treatment systems and an associated 20,000-gallon subsurface concrete holding tank for effluent produced in the manufacturing of circuit boards. The at-grade floor of this structure was used as dry storage for chemicals associated with Electro-Sonics operations. This historic mill building was demolished in 2005 to prepare for the removal of contaminated soils from the site. The current owner after electrosonics has not used or paid taxes on the property.
