Former Use: The property has been a city park since 1998. Before 1998 the property was used for agricultural purposes or a vacant lot. The City relocated the Sioux City Animal Control Rescue & Adoption Center to the property in 2010. The facility contains 12,750 square feet of space which includes a total of 65 dog and 55 cat kennels. It was financed through a combination of general obligation bonds and sales tax funds.

Private parties may have conducted additional environmental investigations and/or cleanup on this property but have not provided notice to the City of Sioux City.
