Additional Property Attributes

A Phase I ESA performed April/May 2010 revealed RECs associated with the subject property and adjacent/nearby properties per ASTM 1507-05. On-site RECs include abandoned USTs, subsurface automotive repair structures/piping, and extensive surface impacts. A Phase 2 ESA, which included proper closure of the site's UST system removal of tanks and system piping, proper closure of on-site abandoned sump vaults, and soil and groundwater testing of potentially impacted areas of the site revealed benzoapyrene impacts associated with the former kerosene UST. No other impacts were found related to the identified RECs within the site boundaries. The Hillsborough County EPC reviewed the submitted closure report and supplemental data provided by the Phase 2 ESA as a combined document as if it was submitted as an FDEP Site Assessment Report for the facility because it became a registered facility once the tanks were removed. Upon submittal of a Response to Comments/Supplemental SAR (that included clarification of existing data and cross sections) the EPC recommended an "Low Score Site Initiative No Further Action" status. As such, no additional assessment appears warranted (as of September 2012). Please note the NFA status does not indicate no impacts remain on the site, just that the impacts are limited and not likely to impact human health or the environment.

Former Use: Property is currently a tire shop with structures indicative of a former retail gasoline facility. Historical records indicate fuel storage/dispensing and auto repair back to the 1940s.
