Additional Property Attributes

The subject site consists of three parcels totaling approximatlely 2.25-acres. The site is located just southwest of the downtown Greenville cental business district. The general vicinity to the north and northeast of the site consists of government buildings, private business offices, and a church. To the south and southwest of the site is the Dickinson Avenue Historic District mostly consisting of older commercial buildings along with vacant lots. To the northwest and across 5th Street is the Skinnerville-Greenville Heights Historic District.

Former Use: The current use of the property is being utilized as a paved parking lot for City Personnel. The two smaller parcels to the north are utilized for a City street and grass median. The historical data source displayed several areas on the subject site where hazardous substance or pertoeum products were likely utilized. A filing station at the corner of Dickerson and Greene Street between 1929 and 1974. A tobacco warehouse between 1929 to 1976, a former laundry that included a dry cleaning shed along Dickerson between 1916 and 1974, and a automotive service structure north of the tobacco warehouse 1946.
