Additional Property Attributes

This Property was a prior recipient of a Clean Ohio Revitalization Fund CORF grant to address soil and ground water impacts from a dry cleaner that previously occupied the site. The original redevelopment plan contemplated in the CORF application and associated remediation estimate involved demolishing the existing building and excavating the impacted soil from beneath the structure. Because the City�s redevelopment plan changed to keep the existing building, it was not possible to access all of the impacted soil. This has resulted in a portion of the building being unusable. The CORF grant has been exhausted and additional funds from the BRLF are being sought to complete the remediation and return the entire building to productive use. 2/1/2010 Collection of air and groundwater samples. Sub-slab and membrane barier floor sealant in place. 6/20/2010 Grantee requesed second extension and budget amendment to verify soil vapor was not migrating off-site. Monthly progress reports due. New completion date is 8/9/2010

Former Use: A small retail shopping structure was constructed on the 1700-1708 W. Galbraith Road parcels in 1956. The prior use was residential. Several dry cleaners, none of which are currently viable business entities, occupied 1708 W. Galbraith Road from its construction until 2001. The 1704 W. Galbraith address has been occupied by a bank and various retailers, and most recently by the City for municipal office space. The 6913-6923 Kumler Avenue parcels were used for residential purposes prior their current use as parking lots by the City.
