Additional Property Attributes

The property includes two buildings built around 1929 and rennovated in 1957. The western building is 2 stoies, previously used as a thrift store, but currently vacant. The eastern building is used as a church. Historic resources indicate property was used primarily for residential until 1929 when property was converted for commercial purposes. Use of ARRA petroleum assessment funds from 2B96695701 was requested for the Phase I based on petroleum USTs and historical oilfield contamination in the area. The phase I also included a visual survey for mold and asbestos inside the on-site building. Phase I findings: City directories indicated the buildings have been used for a beauty shop, chiropratic clinic, bank, insurance company, clothing store, office & a church. Although only visual inspection was conducted, suspect ACM was noted in the pipe fittings, boiler insulation, exhaust flue Ceiling & wall tile floor tiles & Mastic some of thise materials are noted to be heavily damaged and/or in poor overall conditions. Heavy presence of mold was detectied thorughout the building, air ducts and tape. Basement floor has standing water moisture appears to be result of damaged roof. Phase I also noted concerns about 5 historic drycleaners noted in proximity to the property.

Former Use: property was residential until 1929 and then a series of commercial uses including Brooks chiropractic Dlinic, Mayme Campbell Beautry shop, Citizens state Bank, Mutual Savings and loan, Emmer Brothers Clothiers, Bales Oil & Gas Broker, Gospel church, Capernaum Christian Center. Property is in strip of retail/commercial.
