Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The property was first developed for industrial use around 1925 when the Imperial Tobacco Company was constructed as a tobacco drying and storage warehouse. The property was used as such until 1955 when the Encino Shirt Company took over operations and converted the building into a sewing factory. The building has suffered at least two fires within the last fifteen years and has had massive structural damage. The Town of Fairmont seized the property in lieu of accumulated propert taxes accrued since the owner fled the country Robeson County and the Town of Fairmont are working together to resolve the matter where the County will take title.
