Additional Property Attributes

The site is located on the south side of Morton Street in a manufacturing zone of Framingham, Massachusetts Middlesex County. The subject site is a 1.55-acre parcel owned by R. M. Tavolieri equipment Company, Inc. No structures are located on the site. The site is unpaved and is currently occupied by a salvage and landscaping company.

Former Use: According to available historic topographic mapping from 1894, the subject site consisted of wetlands along Beaverdam Brook. Waverly Street was depicted approximately in its present alignment, but Morton Street was not depicted. Topographic mapping from 1943 and 1950 depicted Morton Street ending near several buildings, presumably the residential homes presently located west of site. Aerial photography from 1963 and the topographic map depicted Morton Street as a through-going road north of the subject site. The subject site appeared to be wooded or otherwise vegetated in aerial photography from 1963. Town records include building permits from 1963 to raze a dwelling and to construct an office building. Neither structure was visible in the 1963 aerial photography. Later aerial photography from 1978 and 1980 depict what may be structures on the northern end of the site but the low resolution of the aerial photography made identification inconclusive. The site appeared to have been cleared of most vegetation between 1963 and 1978. City-street directory information from 1975 and 1985 indicated that 43 Morton Street was residential. Multiple trucks, trailers and/or other large containers were observed on the subject site in aerial photography from 2001. The present owner, indicated that he operated a trucking company on the site in the late 1990s and early 2000s. In the aerial photographs, trucks, trailers and/or other large rectangular containers appeared to be concentrated at the southern end of the subject site, adjacent to Beaverdam Brook.
