Additional Property Attributes

3326 Reid Avenue is a former residential Property that was acquired by the Lorain Community Development Department on October 8, 2009. An initial site visit was performed on April 8, 2010 during which a 275-gallon AST was observed. Site assessment activities were completed on June 22, 2010 during which two holes were cored into the walls adjacent to the AST in order to access the area for the purposes of collecting soil samples. The purpose of the soil sampling was to assess whether a release from the AST had occurred. Two samples SB-01 and SB-02A were collected with a decontaminated stainless steel auger from soils adjacent to the AST. The soil samples were submitted to the EA Group laboratory located in Mentor, Ohio for Volatile Organic Compounds VOCs U.S. EPA method 8260, poly-cyclic aromatic hydrocarbons PAHs U.S. EPA method 8270, and total petroleum hydrocarbons TPH U.S. EPA method 8015 analyses. Upon receipt, the analytical laboratory data were tabulated and compared with Ohio Voluntary Action Program VAP standards and Ohio Department of Commerce Bureau of Underground Storage Tank Regulation BUSTR action levels Table 1. With the exception of TPH in soil sample SB-02A, none of the constituents were detected at concentrations that exceed applicable action levels. TPH C10-C20 middle distillates were detected in the SB-02A soil sample at a concentration of 15,000 milligrams per kilogram mg/kg, which exceeds the BUSTR action level of 10,000 mg/kg. This indicates that a release of oil has occurred. Several PAHs were detected, however the detected concentrations were below comparison standards.

Former Use: 3326 Reid Avenue is residential property that was constructed in 1900. Over the past century it has been owned by various private owners. It was acquired by the Lorain Community Development Department on October 8, 2009.
