Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The Property was developed with residences by 1887. By 1902, the residences were razed, and a commercial building was located on the Property. By 1907, the Property was developed with two structures one structure along West Main Street West Michigan Avenue occupied by Art and Stathy, the other structure on the eastern portion of the Property was unidentified. This unidentified structure was razed by 1913, and the building on the western portion of the Property was depicted as occupied by Milly Dress Goods. By the 1920s, the building was occupied by a music store. In 1928, the current commercial building was constructed. Between 1935 and 1940, Miller-Jones Company, a shoe store, occupied the building. Between the mid-1940s and the early 1960s, the building was occupied by a women�s clothing store. In 1965, Ermisch Travel of Battle Creek occupied the building. In 1968, renovations were made to the interior of the building, and Speed�s Koffee Shop occupied the building until at least 1975. In 1977 alterations were made to the building, and the building was occupied by Lady Coles until the 1980s. Since 1988, Rice�s Shoes has occupied the building. In 2010, a floral shop began operating in the building.
