Additional Property Attributes

Parkside of Michigan, LLC intends on demolishing the remaining portion of the vacant Leelanau Memorial Health Center building and separate former ambulance garage. In the area where the hospital will be demolished, Parkside will build a 4-story independent living facility with approximately 40 living units. Additionally, on a portion of the surrounding adjacent campus, 16 villas will be constructed for independent living.

Former Use: The site is approximately 14-acres in size and was first commercially developed as Leelanau Memorial Health Center in 1957. Additions to the LMHC building were completed in 1962 and 1974, resulting in the current 18,238 sq. ft. configuration for the building. Two additional buildings are located on the subject property: an approximately 2,354 sq. ft. administrative/Clinic building and a 2,396 sq. ft. ambulance garage. Hospital operations ceased in 2005, and the LMHC building and garage have been vacant since that time. The administrative/Clinic building continues to be occupied by Munson Health Care and ShareCare of Leelanau, Inc.
