Additional Property Attributes

Planned redevelopment and reuse activities for the Old Agency Landfill include restoring the site to a recreational area with walking/jogging trails. Tribe will seek funding opportunities for restoration activities (PPF - Old Agency Landfill, 10/16/06).

Former Use: Landfill used from early 1920s to 1970 . Received all types of wastes (agricultural, residential, and industrial) and reportedly received unspecified amounts of pesticides. Landfill closed and buried in 1970. The fort Belknap Indian Community is the primary owner or property and has not changed ownership since the formation of the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation in 1888.
