Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The Property was agricultural land from at least 1938 to some time before 1950. By 1950, the Property was included in the Fort Custer military base and was developed with military barracks. The Property continued to be used for military housing until 1964 when the Fort Custer military base was closed. In 1971, a portion of the Fort Custer military base, including the Property, was sold to the City of Battle Creek for redevelopment into the Fort Custer Industrial Park. By 1975, the military barracks had been razed and the current industrial building on the Property was constructed. The building was utilized for the manufacture of metal parts from 1975 until 2008. From 2008 to 2010, the building was unoccupied.
