Additional Property Attributes

The Rickard Logging Camp was reported to have operated at the site from the early 1940's to the late 1980's. The site was used as a base camp for logging operations, a commercial gas station, and a small scale horse and cattle ranch. Historic activities of environmental concern include onsite maintenance of heavy equipment, automobiles, storage of explosives, mechanical equipment and petroleum products associated with logging activities. The REC's found are two USTs and associated fuel dispensers, one AST (300 gal, 15% full), numerous unlabeled 55-gallon drums and an assortment of smaller storage containers assumed to contain petroleum hydrocarbon products, localized areas of soil staining. Soil was identified in the vicinity of the 55-gal drums and on the concrete slab underlying the carport, and historic maintenance shop. Potential presence of radon, suspect cement asbestos, and lead based paint were found.

Former Use: Inherited from late husband Barney Rickard approximately 5 years ago 1940's - 1989 Rickard Logging Company Headquarters, serviced logging trucks and personal vehicles. Gas station and equipment repairs. Cattle/Horse Ranch. Presently the site is utilized as a private residence. Several historic building are observed to remain on the site including maintenance shop, historical residence, carport, and cellar, well pump house, and chicken coup. Rubble reported to be the remnants of a historical bunkhouse and another unidentified building were also observed.
