Additional Property Attributes

The subject sites were developed by two residential structures as affordable housing by a local housing developer and were financed in part by SWIDA. The developer has met with financial difficulties, and SWIDA is assisting with the transfer of the sites to the East St. Louis Housing Authority. Neither residence is currently occupied. No RECs were noted in association with the subject sites. The Housing Authority requested that a letter be written to the State Historic Preservation Office SHPO to satisfy their HUD requirements. SWIDA funded this task.

Former Use: Based on available historical information, the subject site has been residentially developed since at least 1950. Prior to residential development, the site was undeveloped from at least 1905 to 1940. Surrounding properties have been developed by residences, a filling station and a funeral home.
