The 13 story facility has been restored and opened February 2007 as the Hilton Skirvin. The redevelopment of this hotel spurred another developer to purchase another historic building in downtown Oklahoma City, the Colcord, and develop it into a luxury boutique hotel. The Pilot reported a total of 991,000 in cleanup funds leveraged and 55,452,586 in redevelopment funds. PPF-Skirvin Plaza Hotel, 7/13/2003. Redevelopment jobs includes 300 temporary construction jobs and 225 permanent hotel jobs.

Former Use: The property is approximately 1.45 acres. The hotel encompasses 250,000 sf. The historic structure was constructed in 1911 and is on the National Register of Historic Places (Oklahoma City, 2004). The Skirvin is considered by preservationists to be one of the most important buildings in the state. The property has operated as a hotel since its construction. It was operated by the original owner, William Balser "Bill" Skirvin until his death in 1944. It then changed hands several times and went through several renovations until the hotel closed in 1988. The property is located in downtown Oklahoma City in a prime tourist and business area. The hotel property is currently owned by the Oklahoma City Redevelopment Authority, and the building is owned by Marcus Hotels and Resorts. The hotel is operated by the Hilton hotel chain. According to the Oklahoma County Assessor's records, the Skirvin has generated property taxes in the amount of $480,972.72 from 2000 to 2014. In 2024, a $15 million renovation will occur. We will enter this later, when the renovation occurs.

According to the Oklahoma County Assessor's website: in 2024, the status of remodeled activities became active with an estimated construction cost of $350,000 and the market value is $32,455,795. Update to paragraph above: no new news articles have been located regarding the $15 million renovation; however, a news article was located stating that a new Boom Town Creamery (ice cream shop) will be setting up a new location inside the historic Skirvin Hotel, set for a Spring 2025 opening.
