Additional Property Attributes

The property is located in a blighted area. The owner plans to redevelop the site into an insurance office and convenience store. The Alderman and Forest Park Neighborhood Association support the redevelopment of this property. A Phase II Environmental Site Assessment has been recommended and is underway. The Phase II ESA confirmed gasoline and diesel contamination in soil and groundwater at the site above target levels. Additional site characterization will be necessary, as well as removal of the USTs, and possibly cleanup.

Former Use: This property has been developed since approximately 1956 and was historically used as a gas station and sandwich shop. The underground storage tanks are still present. The property is privately owned, by Kellis Group, LLC.
