Additional Property Attributes

Historically no less than three automotive repair businesses operated at the site from 1948 to 1993. Other past uses included two taverns and a single family residence. The City acquired the site in 1993. In 1994, the onsite structures, excluding the carpentry/cabinet workshop operated on the Byrum-owned parcel, were demolished by the City. Previous ESAs conducted on the original City-owned parcel identified two areas of the site with soils impacted by total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) and/or volatile organic compounds (VOCs) at concentrations reportedly above soil cleanup thresholds. In 2008, the City procured the Byrum parcel and shortly thereafter, the City demolished the carpentry/cabinet workshop structures located on this parcel. The approximate 1.3-acre site is currently vacant. The TSI herein was developed and implemented to resolve data gaps in the previous site investigations, to evaluate need for remedial measures to address TPH- and VOC-impacted soil, and to identify if there are any hazardous substance concerns on the recently acquired Byrum parcel.

Former Use: DTSC worked with the City on a TSI, and since then have enteretd into an Environmental Oversight Agreement to follow up on the TSI recommendations for further investigation.
