Additional Property Attributes

The Site is located on the northwestern corner of the intersection of South Main Street and Greenhorn Road in Yreka, California. The Site consists of one parcel [APN] 62-011-200 totaling approximately 6 acres. The on-site structures (buildings, tanks, sumps, etc.) have been removed and the Site is currently undeveloped land. The majority of the Site has been graded level, and gravel covers most of the property, with patches of asphalt present at the surface in some areas.

Former Use: Between 1954 and the early 2000s, the Site was occupied by the Siskiyou County Department of Public Works Corporation Yard. According to a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, eight buildings (including a radio repair shop, a carpenter shop, a bus maintenance building, a paint shop, a sign shop, and a soils lab); a service station; underground storage tanks (USTs) for fuel; aboveground storage tanks (ASTs) for fuel, heating oil, and road oil, including a double-walled AST installed in 1998; and a steam-cleaning rack. No significant concentrations of COCs were detected, but groundwater monitoring needs to be continued.
