Former Use: The property lies within Section 34, Township 48 North, Range 4 West in the City of Ashland, Ashland County, Wisconsin. The subject property is located south of the Timeless Timber facility located at 2200 Lake Shore Drive East, east of the intersection of 22nd Avenue East and 6th Street east, and is approximately 0.96 acres in size. The property is currently undeveloped and wooded, and is located in a mixed use residential and commercial area located northeast of the downtown area of the City of Ashland, Wisconsin. No structures are present. The property has historically been undeveloped. Adjacent properties were originally platted for residential use as early as the late 1800�s. Several roads historically near the subject property to the west and north that were constructed following the platting of the adjacent parcels for residential use have been removed. Railroad spur develoment occurred on adjacent properties as early as 1975. It is believed the spurs were dismantled by 2000. Chain of ownership information indicates that the property was owned by Ashland County until 1964, at which time it was quit claim deeded to the Louisiana Pacific Corporation. The City of Ashland acquired the property from Louisiana Pacific Corporation in 1999.
