Additional Property Attributes

The Clark Station that currently occupies the property began operation in 1965 and stopped operation in 2003. Prior to the Clark Station it appears this property was undeveloped and possibly used for farming. The station appears to be unchanged from when it stopped operation in 2003, a small building approximately 750 ft2 , a large pump island metal canopy and several individual dispensing pumps still remain at the property. Access to the property is unrestricted and it frequently is used for customer parking by the adjacent animal hospital. The property has had several owners/investors during the operational history of it. Recovery Earth Holdings Incorporated purchased the property in 2006, and is the current owner. Both the Illinois EPA and OSFM have attempted to contact this company but to date have had no response from them. In 2005, the OSFM cited the owner at the time, Midwest Petroleum Incorporated, for four violations related to the underground storage tanks at the property. In 2006, OSFM cited Midwest for having abandoned tanks still reported as active. In 2008, Midwest was ordered to remove the tanks by 2009. In 2010, Midwest was again cited for not removing tanks that have been out of service for greater than five years. Current, OSFM recorders indicated that there are two, 7500 gallon gasoline tanks at this location. In February 2011, Illinois EPA conducted a metal detector survey at the site to confirm and locate the two gasoline tanks on record with the OSFM. The tanks were identified and marked using GPS. The survey also ruled out the existence of any historic tanks potentially located on the property.
