Additional Property Attributes

Power Torque Services has leased a portion of the Former DiNovo?s property, creating more than a dozen jobs in the process. PTS has dispatched equipment and tools to Steubenville. At the moment, the company has six employees onsite with the number of workers planned to rise to 25 by the end of the summer. All of the PTS hiring is expected to be done locally

Former Use: Based on a review of historical Sanborn maps, the property was developed as dwellings and a grocery prior to 1885. Around 1913, a dance hall was located on the northern region of the property and the southern region of the property was developed as a roller rink. City directories indicated that the property had been used as Smith AB Piano Co. in 1913 and later as Steubenville Auto & Accessory Co. in 1918. The dance hall and roller rink had been redeveloped as garages in the 1920s. The structures located on N. 3rd St. have been used since the 1920s as residential dwellings, an auto dealer, body shop, collision repair shop, and garage performing vehicle maintenance and repair. Based on city directories, it appears that the property was acquired by the DiNovo family in the mid-1920s. Parcels located on N. Lake Erie Ave. have been used as residential dwellings, a paper and rags facility, radio shop/auto repair center, and private garage.
