The Kansas Department of Health and Environment KDHE conudcted a Phase I Brownfields Targeted Assessment BTA at the former Great Bend Army Airfield property in Gread Bend, Barton County, KS. The BTA was conudcted for the City of Greatr Bend to evaluate a property with unknown environmental conditions. Utilizing the Brownfields Program, the City hopes to encourage new long term tenants on the property. Three RECs were identified: as use an Army Airfield, abandoned drum and debris, and possible use as a landfill.

Former Use: U.S. Army, until transfer to City of Great Bend in 1947
