Additional Property Attributes

Property is one parcel in the Block 43 of the Union Plat. The City has been working to remediate and redevelop this block since 2005. The south 1/3 was redeveloped as a Walgreens and the remaining 2/3s including the parcel in question is intended to continue this redevelopment as the block is a gateway to the City's historic downtown. Following completition of the Phase 1, the City was able to acquire the property using tax increment financing funding.

Former Use: Property abuts the Burlington Northern Santa Fe mainline carrying 45-55 trains daily. Over the past 100 years, the property has generally been used for storage including as a beer depot, a cement warehouse, and a bulk oil/fuel station.
