Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The site (Jameson Building) is located at 523 West 3rd Street, (southeast corner of West 3rd and Oak Streets), in Texarkana, Texas. The site consists of a 0.16 acre parcel of land improved with a two-story vacant office building. It appears the site was vacant until approximately 1905. Two buildings were developed around this time, and the current building was constructed around 1951. Former offices/businesses in the Jameson Building include a pharmacy, hair salon, pool hall, dry cleaners and caf�The Jameson Building is currently in poor condition with large holes in the walls and ceiling, chipping paint, broken windows and loose floor and ceiling tiles. Due to the deteriorated state of the building and location near blighted parts of the City, the structure is under-used within the context of a Brownfield. The Jameson family has plans to restore the property into commercial businesses and add an entertainment venue on the second floor, which would provide improved use and community benefit.
