Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The property is currently vacant and is an abandoned service station property. An ~ 60' by 25' concrete pad remains on the site and no other improvements remain on the site. Until the 1920's, the site was occupied by two two-story structures, a dwelling structure and a stable/garage. From ~ 1927 -1950, the buildings were razed and replaced by a gas filling station. In 1953, the existing gas filling station was demolished and replaced with a new facility. The property operated as a gas filling station until the late 1980's. In 2000, the City of Chicago used its enforcement powers to remove non-compliant USTs and demolished the remaining buildings. The City of Chicago demolished the remaining structure. The City of Chicago foreclosed on demolition lien and acquired the property.
