Additional Property Attributes

The Site consists of two parcels (APN: 004-0077-003-00, 004-0071-003-00) owned by Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) totaling approximately 3.5 acres in a residential and commercial mixed-use area of Oakland, California. The West Oakland BART Station and tracks traverse the Site in a north-south direction. The Site consists of parking lots surrounding the station roughly from Fifth Street to Seventh Street and between Mandela Parkway and Chester Street in West Oakland. The BART station was constructed in 1972. Prior to that time, the Site was occupied by a door and window manufacturing facility and other shops dating to the late 1800s, and a warehouse in the early 1900s. The Site has been used as a parking lot since 1954. A junkyard occupied part of the Site from the 1950s to 1970s roughly in the area of the BART station footprint. The structures at the Site were demolished in the late 1960s in preparation for the construction of the BART station.
