Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: In July 2006, the Community Development Commission of the City of Santa Fe Springs entered into an Administrative Settlement Agreement and Order on Consent (Administrative Settlement Agreement) with the California Environmental Protection Agency Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC). This property was formerly owned by the Beaumon Family Trust who leased the property to a drum recycler from 1971 through 1984. Chemical compounds, including compounds originating from drums collected from an Ameron facility in Brea, California, were released to the subsurface on and near 12525 Park Avenue by the drum recycling activities. At the onset of this project the property was owned by the CDC, but ownership has transferred to the Villages at Heritage Springs, LLC as part of the redevelopment process. The Subject Remediation Property is located in the northeast portion of the 54-acre piece of property at the southwest corner of Bloomfield Avenue and Telegraph Road formerly known as the Town Lots. The 54 acres is currently a new housing development known as the Villages at Heritage Springs (VHS). The VHS project site is a currently producing oilfield where numerous studies evaluating soil, soil vapor and groundwater have been conducted.
