Additional Property Attributes

The site islocated on the south side of Waverly Street in a Business B and General Residence G zone of Framingham, Massachusetts Middlesex County. A two story, 7,723 - square foot commercial building is the only structure located on the subject site. Silton Glass is an automotive glass repair company.

Former Use: By 1915, a small building, identified as a grocery store and a lunch kitchen, was constructed on the northwest corner of the site. Based on the grading at the site it appears that prior to development the site may have been filled. Between 1922 and 1930, a filling station with an underground storage tank was constructed on the northeastern portion of site. The western half of the site, south of the store front, was being used for an auto wrecking yard at this time. Mapping from 1948 shows that the filling station replaced by an auto parts store. The gas tank shown on the 1930 map was not depicted on the 1948 map however there was no report of this tank being removed. Between 1948 and 1968, the small store in the northwest corner of the site was demolished. By 1968, the western portion of the site was being used for auto sales and an auto wrecking yard. Town records indicated that the current site building, occupied by the Silton Glass Company, was constructed in 1960. The auto wrecking yard was in operation until approximately 1970.
