Additional Property Attributes

The subject property is an historic train depot owned by the City of Sturgis, Michigan City. The City intends to preserve the structure and has secured a Michigan Department of Transportation MDOT Transportation Enhancement Grant to help renovate the historic structure. Part of that work will involve replacement of the roof, gutters, window systems and other elements. The City will have to consider the asbestos-containing building materials and lead paint present in the structure in its plans for rehabilitation.

Former Use: The subject property has been a train depot since at least the late 1800s.
