Additional Property Attributes

This site in Linnton was brought to our attention as part of a community process being facilitated by Oregon Health Authority to address health concerns related to contamination exposure in Linnton. Among other outcomes of the Action Model, the process has identified this particular parcel as an opportunity site for cleanup of contamination and/or community-driven reuse. The site was donated to Portland Parks and Recreation in 1924. Because of poor access and industrial neighbors, there are no plans to develop the site as a park. It is currently considered a holding, to be traded or sold in exchange for more desirable park land. In the meantime, the Linnton community members have come up with a proposal to use the site on a temporary basis, for a labyrinth and community gathering. There was concern that the neighboring industrial properties may have contributed to contamination on this parcel but the Phase I ESA did not indicate any RECs and a Phase II ESA was deemed unnecessary.

Former Use: This parcel of land was donated to Portland Parks and Rec in 1924 and was vacant at the time of assessment. There was significant concern among residents about contamination on the site because of activities on neighboring properties and proximity to the highway.
