Additional Property Attributes

Based on a Phase I ESA prepared in November 2011, RECs have been identified on this property per ASTM 1527-05. RECs are related to the site's former use as an auto repair facility with auto painting, and retail gasoline sales based on evidence of former dispenser island. A Phase 2 ESA conducted in early 2012 revealed no groundwater impacts. However, soil impacts included metals (lead, arsenic and barium), as well as low-level PAHs (benzo(a)pyrene equivalents) at levels exceeding the State criteria for residential cleanup. Lead was found at levels warranting TCLP analysis, which revealed the lead in soil was classified as non-hazardous. A geophysical survey confirmed that hydraulic lift structures are likely present beneath one of the structure's slabs. Supplemental assessment and source removal activities resulted in removal of all suspected sources of contamination and impacted soils. The site received an unconditional SRCO in April 2013, and the site has been successfully redeveloped as a viable commercial entity/property (woman-owned defence contractor).

Former Use: Site was vacant at time of Phase 1 ESA site visit. Previous land use has included auto repair, auto body painting and gasoline storage/use/sales.
