Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The site has been an undeveloped parcel of land located between the Gothic Mill Pond and a rail line. Based on a review of historical aerials, the site was a vacant lot from at least 1937 until the present. There is evidence in aerial photos that around 1971, the adjoining pond was dredged and sediment material potentially placed on the site. The adjoining properties to the north and northwest were occupied by large commercial/industrial properties between at least 1897 and present day. Multiple bulk oil operators were located to the north and northwest of the site between 1913 and 1949. In addition a rail station depot that included a locomotive turn table, locomotive house and spur lines servicing the bulk oil plant and other industrial operations were located on the adjoining property to the northwest. The Ripon Packing Co. and later Garden Pickle Co./Ripon Pickle Company were located on the adjoining property to the north from 1892 until approximately 2001.
