Additional Property Attributes

The Site building occupies the east portion of the Site and is approximately 7,500 square feet. It was reportedly constructed in 1918 with several additions since that time. The southeast portion of the building, a former blacksmiths shop, is the earliest vintage of construction and may have been moved to the Site from the town of Gilman. The northeast portion of the building was formerly occupied by a hardware store and contains a large retail area. These two sections of the building have frontage along Main Street and are covered with a concrete block veneer. Both areas are currently used for storage. The rear portion of the building consists of two rooms which are used for a welding/machine shop and steel storage. The remainder of the Site is west of the building and unpaved. The south portion is used as a driveway into the shop and is covered with gravel. Empty drums are stored along the south property line. The north portion of this area contains several vehicles, a tractor, a gravel pile, a few additional empty drums, and sandblasting waste. The Site is connected to municipal water and sewer.

Former Use: This property has been in the Kenck family since it's purchase by Richard Kenck Sr. in 1947. It was transferred to his son and daughter in 2001. since that time, the daughter Carolyn McAdam has transferred her share in the property to the son, Richard Kenck Jr. The property has been used for various activities over the past 65 yrs including an implement dealership, currently the property is mostly vacant with a small welding shop leasing the back portion of the shop.
