Proposed future use is new construction of Credit Union

Former Use: The property is comprised of nine parcels of land. The City of Marion Indiana currently owns all nine parcels and gained ownership of them in 2008 from Indiana Michigan Electric Company. Approximately 75 percent of the property consists of an asphalt paved parking lot. Newer asphalt paving is located in the central portion of the property. A single column of parking spaces is located on the eastern portion of the Property. Patches and other repairs were located throughout the asphalt paved portions of the Property. The remainder of the east portion of the property is a grass-covered lot with few areas of landscaping. No buildings are currently located on the property. Review of historical documentation identified a dry cleaning plant located on the northwest corner of the property from at least 1962 through 1968. A machine shop was noted on the property on the 1931 fire insurance map. Gasoline stations were noted east of the property along Washington Street from at least 1920 through at least 1973. A facility labeled as �vulcanizing� was noted east of the property on the 1920 fire insurance map. A laundry/dry cleaning facility was identified southeast of the property from at least 1890 to at least 1931. A print shop, auto sales and service, machine shops and electric motor repair were noted south of the property from 1920 to 1947.
