Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The site is approximately 179 acres that is planned to be subdivided from 213.8 acres currently owned by Xethanol Corporation. Plant remnants include two water treatment ponds with concrete aprons/liners, 11-acre settling pond, two wastewater sprayfields, a guard shack, basketball court, partially demolished office structure and concrete floor slabof the production building. The Masonite Plant was built and began operation in 1971. The plant produced medium density fiberboard panels. International Paper IP acquired Masonite and closed the plant in 1998. Carolina Fiberboard Corporation CFC bought the property out of bankruptcy in 2005, then sold the property to Xethanol Corporation in 2006. Xethanol Corporation did not use the plant and has since gone bankrupt.
