Additional Property Attributes

The subject property consists of one 1 parcel containing 0.96 acres and located at the northwest corner of North Cedar Street and Grand River Avenue. The property is occupied by one 1 single story, 20,984-square foot retail building, which was originally constructed in the 1920�s with subsequent additions and alterations since initial construction. The building contains a partial basement, office areas, and retail area. The subject building occupies the northwest portion of the subject property, with parking lot and landscaped areas located to the east and south.

Former Use: Standard and other historical sources were able to document that the subject property was developed prior to 1885 as a lumber yard in the central area of the property, and residential houses on the southern portion, which were razed prior to 1966. The central portion of the subject property was redeveloped with a commercial building used as an automobile service business between 1906 and 1913. The building was subsequently expanded in the 1920s for automotive sales, service, and automotive painting operations. Automobile servicing and painting operations continued through to the mid-1990s, following which the subject property was converted for use as retail space.
