Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Prior to development, peat deposits in site soil borings indicate that the site was marshy and was subsequently filled with industrial waste. The site has been used for industrial and commerical use since the early 1900s. By 1902, a portion of the site was used for manufacturing leather products. By 1942 about half the block was used for auto sales and service, auto wrecking as associated uses. By 1986 the site was used entirely for auto sales and service.The ciyt of Madison acquired the site in 2011 with the intent to remediate and sell for private development.
