Additional Property Attributes

The property is vacant land with the potential to be developed by an end user.

Former Use: The property consists of vacant land formerly occupied by an industrial facility. Gravel drives, railroad beds, and remnants of parking areas were noted on the property. The former building location is noted by overgrown vegetation and areas of exposed soil and gravel sub-base. Areas of the property not occupied by the former improvements consist of mowed grass. Several drainage features are noted on the property. The property was acquired by General Motors in 1974 and the facility was constructed in 1976. Prior to 1974, the property was vacant, undeveloped, or utilized for agricultural purposes. The property was also historically utilized as a waste water lagoons and a wastewater pre-treatment plant WWPTP. The Property was utilized for automotive battery manufacturing since its original construction until mid-1998. Primary operations at the facility included injection molding, lead cell production, and battery assembly. In 2005 the on-site building was demolished and only portions of the concrete slab foundation, relict demolition debris, and the rail spurs remain on the property. Delaware Advancement Corporation obtained ownership of the property in November 2007 from General Motors Corporation.
