Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The subject property consists of approximately 2.5 acres and is currently vacant land, covered in concrete, gravel, brick and weeds. No structures are currently present on the subject property. Most recently the subject property was listed as being a junk yard. Prior to that, the north portion of the subject property was previously developed with railroad spurs and the southeast portion of the subject property previously had an office building and a scale present. In addition a coal storage building was depicted on the south portion of the subject property in 1950. The property was listed as being occupied by Lester Coal & Oil Company from around 1941 to 1971 and later E & E Baler Service in 1981. The subject property has been vacant since at least 1999. The foundations of the former office structure and the former scale were observed on the subject property during PSI�s site reconnaissance. In addition, the north portion of the subject property was observed to have brick pavers present. Current uses of the adjoining properties include a railroad right-of-way followed by a storage yard for Case Foundations to the north and a vacant lot to the northwest, 40th Place followed by residential homes, a bar, and D.D. Industries, Inc to the south, Wallace Street followed by Acid Products Company to the west, and a parking lot followed by Normal Avenue and a vacant lot to the east.
